Bacary Sagna has confirmed that he will be leaving Arsenal as contract talks did not go “in the direction I wanted”.
The French International is rated as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League and has been a great servant to the Gunners.
And despite Arsene Wenger’s desire to keep hold, it is believed that the Gunners would not offer Sagna the three-year, £100,000-a-week deal he wanted.
As quoted on the Sky Sports website, he said: “It’s no longer a secret, I’ll leave Arsenal.
“They tried to make an effort, but the discussions have not gone in the direction I wanted.”
