Tottenham and Chelsea are set to go head to head in the race to sign Everton attacker Ross Barkley.
According to the Telegraph, Tottenham is preparing a £20 Million for the England ace, however, Chelsea is in the process of tabling their own offer for the 23-year-old.
Barkley has made it clear to Everton that he wants to leave Goodison Park and the club have reluctantly agreed to his request.
Barley is currently injured but that will not affect any potential transfer, as usual, it is money that is the biggest hurdle to any deal.
Everton had wanted £50 million but with less than 12 months remaining on Barkley’s contract, the club has lowered that valuation by £20 million.
Tottenham have not offered the full £30 million, instead, they are offering an initial £20 million with £8 million in add ons and are hopeful that the Toffees will accept.
But the North Londoners need to be careful with their negotiating tactics, Chelsea is liable to come in with the full £30 million that Everton are now demanding.
It remains in the air where Barkley will be next for the rest of this season but what we do know is that it will not be at Everton.
