It is being reported that Tottenham and Newcastle are very close to agreeing on a deal for Spurs star Andros Townsend.
The midfielder has only managed to get 64 minutes play time in the Premier League, had been targeted by Newcastle as Steve McClaren attempts to strengthen his squad.
Tottenham had originally demanded a fee of £14 million for the star, which is higher than the £10 Million that Newcastle had first offered.
But it seems that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, has become personally involved with this deal and has insisted that his side take the lower amount. This would free up space in the club for new signings before the transfer window closes.
