Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, is scouting Arsenal defender Calum Chambers, ahead of a summer move.
According to the Daily Mail, the Spurs boss is keeping a close watch on the player’s situation at Arsenal. Chambers has spent the past two seasons on loan at Middleborough, which has called his Arsenal future into question.
The defender who is only 22 years old, still has three years left to run on his current contract with the Gunners. But, it is unclear if he is going to feature in Arsenal’s first team plans next season.
Former Boro Manager Aitor Karanka, had praised the Charlton Academy product’s ability before he was sacked last month.
He praised the quality and versatility of the English youngster saying,
“… He is a really good central defender”
“He can play as a right back as well … when you are a good player, you can play in different positions”
Pochettino see Chambers as a strong and reliable backup to his current options at right and centre back position.
The Argentine is likely to make a move for the player who is believed to be valued at around 10 million when the transfer window opens.
But lets be honest, can anyone see Arsene Wenger agreeing to sell any of his players to Tottenham?
