Tottenham is finally set to add some reinforcements to their team ahead of the new season.
The Lillywhites have been bashed by some of their fans and analysts who believe their lack of transfer activity could cost them their position as one of the most competitive teams in the English top flight. However, Mauricio Pochettino has defended his club’s discipline not to spend just because others are doing so, claiming they have a different strategy to other clubs.
However, Sun Sport is reporting that Spurs are set to complete the signing of Germany youth international, Jeremy Toljan after his impressive showing at this summer’s European Under 21 championship.
Toljan is a tall athletic defender who is adept at playing at both right and left full back position. He broke into the first team of Hoffenheim at the start of the 2014/2015 season at the age of just 18 years and has gone on to become one of the club’s most important players.
The 22-year-old was a key player as Hoffenheim returned to Europe last season.
Pochettino expects him to compete with Kieran Trippier for the right back position after the sale of Kyle Walker to Manchester City.
