Premier League runners-up, Tottenham have agreed on a deal with Sporting Lisbon over the transfer of their midfielder, Adrien Silva.
The 28 year who has spent his entire career with Sporting Lisbon is said to have agreed on a deal with the White Hart Lane club and only agreeing personal terms is left.
Tottenham have had a quiet summer so far as they look for the right target. Mauricio Pochettino is impressed by his team that almost won the league last season but wants to get some new players as they look to get beyond the group stages of the Champions League next season.
Adrien Silva is one of the best-attacking midfielders in Portugal right now and has tremendous experience playing in both the Champions League and representing the Portuguese national team.
Portuguese sources are claiming that the deal with Sporting has been agreed for a fee of £26 million.
Tottenham had to turn to Silva after being left frustrated by Everton’s demand of £50 million for the services of Ross Barkley who has just one year left on his current deal with the Toffees.
