Tottenham lining up a summer move for Premier League hit man
Tottenham are ready to swoop for Burnley striker, Andre Gray. According to reports coming from the media, Tottenham wants the striker to become Harry Kane’s understudy.
Spurs signed Vincent Janssen last season to reduce the goal scoring burden on Kane. But the Dutchman has been hugely disappointing, he is yet to score a goal from open play in the Premier League despite getting a lot of opportunities to impress Mauricio Pochettino.
It is believed that Pochettino sees Gray as a better understudy, the Burnley striker has been in great form since joining the team two years ago from Brentford.
He has just 12 months left on his current deal, and even though it is likely that he would sign a new deal, he is said to be keeping his options open.
Tottenham have had to rely on Dele Alli and Son for goals in the absence of Kane. They know that this cannot continue if they want to be successful playing in 4 competitions next season.
It is believed that the only way that Pochettino can get his man is if he offloads Vincent Janssen.
The Dutchman’s form has not attracted many admirers, but it is believed that teams in the Dutch league want to sign him.
