Besiktas star Oguzhan Ozyakup is attracting the interest of Tottenham, according to reports coming out of Turkey.
Ozyakup was part of the Arsenal youth set up until 2012, when he moved home to join Besiktas. He helped the Turkish club to the league title last season and is close to doing the same this season.
He was a team mate with both Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin in the Arsenal youth set up that won the youth FA cup.
The Besiktas midfielder is rumoured to be valued around £12 million, and has just 12 months left to run on his current deal.
However, there is competition for his signature, with several top European sides monitoring the player. The most significant competition will come from his former club, Arsenal who have been scouting their former player. They have repeatedly sent their scout, Jurgen Kost to get more information about the Midfielder’s progress.
Besiktas are also keen on keeping him at the club, but will wait till the end of the season before they offer him a new deal. This lack of urgency in giving the midfielder a new deal is seen as a sign that Besiktas are willing to cash in on the player.
