Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, is interested in signing Newcastle on-loan winger, Florian Thauvin. The French man endured a terrible time in England when he first arrived in Newcastle in 2015. He scored only one goal in 16 appearances for the Magpies, before returning on-loan to France with Marseille.
Since he rejoined his former team, he has regained some part of the killer instinct that saw him move to Newcastle two years ago. He has scored 12 goals this season and looks like he will score more before the season ends.
This form has made Marseille to consider triggering a clause in his loan deal that would make the move permanent. However, the French team will now face serious competition from Tottenham.
Pochettino is said to have been receiving scouting reports on the player’s performances in France, and is impressed by what he has heard so far.
Thauvin is still only 24 and fits the profile of the kind of player Pochettino likes to have in his team. It would be interesting to see if the player would love to give the Premier League another try again.
