Reports coming from Spain indicates that Tottenham are about to poach one of Barcelona’s best young players.

According to the report, the youngster, Marc Cucurella, who will be 19 by July, may look for a move away from camp Nou as opportunities for making the first team is limited.

Tottenham have a good relationship with Barcelona and even though players have not moved between the clubs often, it is believed that if both clubs want a deal, the negotiations will be smooth.

Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino is also a close friend of Josep Maria, the President of Barcelona. They bumped into each other some weeks back when Pochettino went on Holidays to Barcelona. A chance meeting which at that time heightened rumours that Pochettino would be taking over the Catalan giants from next season.

Cucurella’s contract expires at the end of this season, and the player is said to be waiting to see the offer he will get from Barcelona, but he is not closing the door on coming to the Premier League.

Tottenham believes that Cucurella can fill the gap that would be left if Danny Rose is sold this summer.
