Tottenham have been quoted a fair fee as they look to complete the signing of one of their summer targets. The Lilywhites who are back in the Champions League, are looking to add more stars to their young team, and this search has taken them to Portugal.
According to the British press, the Premier League runners-up have been in touch with Sporting Lisbon over the transfer of their captain, Adrien Silva.
The Portugal international has been tracked by Spurs for some time, with the source claiming that Tottenham had already made an opening bid of around £17 million for his signature.
However, Sporting Lisbon has informed the Londoners that he would only be allowed to leave for £26 million. Silva has a release clause of about £39 million written into his current deal, and the club believes their asking price is good enough for his services.
Silva was very close to signing for Leicester City last summer, but the move was called off at the very last minute as the clubs failed to agree on a deal.
Pochettino has an exciting group of attacking talents, but knows that if they want to challenge effectively in all the competitions they are participating in next season, they would need to add more quality players to their ranks.
