Real Madrid attacking midfielder James Rodriguez is almost certain to remain with the European champions, according to the players father.
The Colombian’s future at Real Madrid has been much speculated about, Chelsea were seen as his most likely destination and it was thought that they would be making a move for him this winter, that appears very unlikely now.
The players father Wilson Rodriguez has reportedly said the following to the Colombian media
‘He has a commitment to Real Madrid and he has a contract,’
‘He is going to stay.’
The Blues were ready to table a significant offer in order to persuade Real to sell and in all fairness they had very good reason to believe they stood a chance of signing the 25 year old.
Rodriguez is a genuine world class talent, he signed with Real Madrid following some stellar performances in the last world club, however, he has not had a smooth time in Spain, he has indicated in the past that he wants a move, but if his father is telling the truth then it is probably best for the likes of Chelsea to start looking elsewhere.
Rodriguez joined Real Madrid from Monaco back in 22nd July 2014, he has made 63 first team appearances and 52 international appearances for Colombia
