Louis van Gaal has revealed Victor Valdes is finished at Manchester United because of his poor attitude.
Valdes was axed from the squad for United’s pre-season tour of America, prompting speculation about the Spaniard’s future
Van Gaal confirmed Valdes has no future at United and revealed the goalkeeper refused to play for United’s reserves last season.
“He is not selected because he does not follow our philosophy,” said Van Gaal on the Sky Sports website.
“There is no place for one player [who does not do do that].
“The philosophy is how you play football and how you maintain your match rhythm.
“For example, he refused last season to play in the second team. That’s also one aspect of our philosophy but there are a lot of other aspects of how you have to play in our philosophy in Manchester United.
“When you are not willing to follow the principles of the philosophy, then there is only one way – and that is out.”
