Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that even he has been left surprised by the meteoric rise of young duo of Francis Coquelin and Hector Bellerin.
Arsenal continued their brilliant run of form by claiming a fine 4-1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday and once again the stand out players for the Gunners during the clash was the duo of Francis Coquelin and Hector Bellerin.
As quoted on the Sky Sports website, Wenger said: “Honestly, I couldn’t say that in my head Coquelin was one of the first-choice players.
“But my job is to remain open-minded and make decisions when you have to.
“Bellerin is one of the surprises of the season. He was at Watford on loan last year and didn’t get the games. He’s just 20 years old and you can look at what he does at 20 years of age.”
