Arsene Wenger says Theo Walcott is “keen” to sign a new deal at Arsenal.
The 26-year-old, a reported target for Premier League rivals Liverpool, has one year remaining on his current deal at the Emirates.
However, there has been talk that he could leave the club as his game time will be very much limited to bench work, as Arsene Wenger no longer sees him as a regular starter.
However, he has admitted that Walcott does want to stay at the club.
As quoted on the Sky Sports website, Wenger said: “I want him to stay. When you go into negotiations with a player it is always with desire for that player to stay and he looks keen to do it. Let’s see what comes out.”
