Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists he did not want to lose Lukasz Fabianski.
The Pole faced his former club at the weekend for the first time since leaving.
However, Wenger has admitted that he never wanted Fabianski to leave, and couldn’t blame him for wanting a new challenge.
As quoted on the Arsenal site, he said: “I didn’t want to let him go, he was at the end of his contract.
“We didn’t sell the player but when you get to 27 or 28 and you’re not a regular first choice, you can understand that a player wants to go.”
