There has been some reports which have claimed Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stephane Mbia has confessed that he wants to play Champions League football from next season, which could alert Arsenal.
The Cameroonian is currently on loan at La Liga side Sevilla where he recently became a hero, scoring an injury time goal to put his side through to the Europa League final on away goals
However, the 27-year-old has surprised the Spaniards by declaring in a recent interview that he wants to compete in Europe’s elite competition.
As quoted on the SportsDirectNews website, he said: “I want to play in the Champions League.
“Either way,I am happy and the most important for me is my family.
“My family is happy here, so we will see what happens.
“I have not made a decision, when I make one, my family will be a fundamental part.”
And with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger interested in the big man, he could renew his interest this summer as he looks for a possible replacement for Thomas Vermaelen.
