There have been some rumours emerge which have suggested French side Bordeaux are plotting to raid West Ham for striker Modibo Maiga in the last few days of this window, according to reports.
The Malian striker, who is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations, arrived at Upton Park in the summer from Sochaux for £4.7m.
But he has had a mixed start to life in English football, with just two starts in the Premier League and 18 appearances overall.
And now L’Equipe have suggested that Bordeaux want to take him back to France this month as a replacement for Yoan Gouffran, who has joined Newcastle. (TalkSport)
Although the French side want him, West Ham may be very reluctant to let him leave considering they do not have many striking options and with only a week left in the transfer window, it doesn’t give them much time to find a suitable replacement and he may have to stay until the summer.
