West Ham has made some stunning signings this summer, and they are set to cap those off with the signing of Arsenal’s long term target, William Carvalho.
The Portuguese midfielder has continually been linked with a move to the Emirates since he made his first team debut for Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2013, but the Gunners have found Sporting too complicated to do business with.
However, West Ham is poised to make a £25 million offer for his signature this summer while Arsenal struggles to sell most of their unwanted midfielders.
Sporting had been insistent that his £45 million release clause must be paid in full before the player’s signature could be transferred from them, which means the Hammers should be prepared for a long drawn out transfer saga with the Portuguese club.
Carvalho has developed into one of the finest central midfielders in Europe and turned heads with his performance for the Portuguese national team last summer at the Euros as they won the competition by beating the host France in the final.
