24-goal hitman on way to Arsenal as Wenger ‘confident’ of deal

Fresh reports have claimed Arsenal are lining up a summer raid on Manchester City for out-of-sorts striker Alvaro Negredo.

The Spaniard, who only arrived at the Etihad last summer made a cracking start to life in Manchester, scoring 24 goals in 35 appearances.

However, he has gone 12 games without a goal, his worst drought in four years, dating back to his time at La Liga side Sevilla, and has cut a frustrated figure of late.

And according to the SportsDirectNews website, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is anxious to add at least one striker to his squad in the summer and is confident of helping Negredo rediscover his goalscoring touch.
