There has been some reports which have claimed Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie reportedly wants a return to Arsenal this summer, as showing his unhappiness in the weekend game against West Brom
Van Persie was a tad fortunate not to be sent off in yesterday’s 3-0 win at The Hawthorns after a couple of reckless challenges, and when he was substituted by manager David Moyes in the second half was clearly annoyed by the decision as he trudged off shaking his head.
The striker has had to deny rumours of unrest with Moyes but recent catty comments about his team-mates and yesterday’s behaviour would appear to have exposed his true feelings.
The Daily Mail reports that if Van Persie does leave Old Trafford in the summer, then former club Arsenal are his first-choice destination.
The 30-year-old left the Emirates for £22.5million in 2012, much to the dismay of Arsenal fans and manager Arsene Wenger.
Whether Wenger would have him back looks dubious, and whether Arsenal would match his £240,000-per-week wage packet looks even more unlikely. (Metro)
