Thibaut Courtois believes Chelsea do not want to sell him this summer.
The Belgian is in his third season on loan at Atletico Madrid, where he has played a starring role during their resurgence under manager Diego Simeone.
Reports in the Spanish press earlier this week claimed the player had an agreement to join Atletico’s rivals Real Madrid, although he refuted such claims.
And speaking after Atletico’s 4-1 win over AC Milan, he told Canal Plus: “What is being said does not affect me. I have a contract with Atletico Madrid until June and two more years with Chelsea. Chelsea count on me and I don’t think they want to sell me.”
Atletico are understandably keen to have him beyond the summer, while Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has already said that he expects to have the 21-year-old within his ranks at Stamford Bridge next season. (TalkSport)
