Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has dismissed reports of a summer move to Real Madrid, and although many will be happy with that, he has hinted his future could lye with rivals Atletico Madrid.
Courtois is one of the most talked about young players in the game, after establishing himself as one of the best stoppers in Europe.
But the 21-year-old’s future remains in the balance, with Chelsea keen to keep hold of the young star, as they see him as the clubs number one.
The Belgian international is set for talks with the Blues before the end of the season, but that hasn’t stopped the rumours.
As quoted on the Metro, he said: “The talk about Real Madrid is only rumours, it is not true.
“The one thing I have always said is that it’s Atletico or Chelsea.
“I’m very happy to be with Atleti, my desire is to play and if I can’t do that at Chelsea and I can continue here, I’ll be very happy.
“I’ve never spoken with Mourinho. At the moment Chelsea cannot guarantee me a place in goal because [Petr] Cech is there, he is playing well and is one of the best keepers in the world.”
