Chelsea are battling to convince Atletico Madrid to part with fullback Filipe Luis, according to his agent.
With the Blues looking to a replacement for Ashley Cole, there has been much talk in the media linking Jose Mourinho with a number of top-class signings.
However, it seems that they are very keen on Luis, who has been impressive this season for Madrid.
And his agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, has confirmed Chelsea’s intentions.
However, he also claims that Atletico are not interested in cashing in on the Brazil international, even though there is a £19.5m release clause written into his contract.
As quoted on the TMW website, he said: “The interest is there, but Atletico will not sell.
“They are determined to keep much of the block for next season.
“We’ll see what is happening with different players, but the intention is not to sell to anyone.”
