Arsenal are reportedly lining up a summer move for unsettled Marseille star Mathieu Valbuena, according to reports on the FootballDirectNews website
The French midfielder is struggling for game time at the Stade Velodrome as youngster Florian Thauvin is preferred alongside Dimitri Payet.
The presence of France team mate Olivier Giroud would be a reassuring one for Valbuena, particularly considering that, as a number ten, having a strong relationship with the striker in front of you can be hugely important.
Giroud and Valbuena already have that understanding from international duty, and that could help the attacking midfielder to hit the ground running.
Arsene Wenger’s history of putting faith in players brought in from Ligue 1 will also be food for thought for the Marseille man.
