Arsenal chase for Frenchman hits stumbling block

Reports have come out and claimed Napoli boss Rafael Benitez is set to beat Arsenal once more as he makes a summer move for Maxime Gonalons.

Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain was all-but an Arsenal player last summer but a last minute move from Napoli boss Rafa Benitez saw the former Real Madrid man move to the Serie A.

And, it looks like the former Liverpool boss is set to do the double on the Gunners by making Maxime Gonalons a Napoli player this summer.

Gonalons has been performing at a high standard this season and has contributed heavily to Lyon’s impressive Europa League run, which sees them face Juventus in the quarter-finals this week.

Arsenal have shown high interest this season as they look to find a defensive midfielder to add extra cover to their defensive unit. (SportsDirectNews)

The Gunners wont be too disappointed if they miss out
