There has been some reports which have revealed Arsenal expect Arsene Wenger to stay well beyond his new contract.
Wenger agreed a deal last week until 2017 a few months short of his 68th birthday and it seems that the Gunners hierarchy has plans to keep hold until he retires from the game.
A senior source at the club told the Daily Mirror: “Arsene loves the day-to-day involvement with the players as much as ever.
“So much so that we’re hoping he may yet stay past his three years.”
Even if Wenger does walk away from management in 2017, Arsenal may offer him a high-profile ambassadorial role to make use of his vast football knowledge.
