Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Sebastian Jung after his agent admitted a summer move to the Gunners is on the cards.
The French international is widely tipped top leave the Emirates at the end of the season after failing to agree a new contract, and Arsenal scouts have been sent to watch the German this season.
Arsene Wenger has admitted earlier on in the season that he will look to raid the Bundesliga for its best talents this summer, and although he knows adding young Jung could be a move that would please many fans out there.
Jung played a key role in achieving promotion with Frankfurt in the 2011/12 season and has continued to impress in the Bundesliga, so much so that the likes of Arsenal, Inter, Roma and AC Milan are all keeping tabs on him, according to agent Mino Grillo, who works closely with the German club.
As quoted on the Metro, Grillo said: “Rode to Bayern was not a surprise. He is a football player who ran down his contract and liked the Bavarians. He’s a great prospect.
“For Jung, there is news from Italy, in the past Inter, Roma and Milan, but there has been no recent contact.
“In England, Arsenal are on his trail. He is a right-back with a secure future, and in general, Eintracht’s youth offers several talents that have been shown in the Bundesliga last season, the Bundesliga this season and the Europa League.”
