Barcelona fans have voted former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song as the player they’d most like to sell this summer.
In a fans’ poll on Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, the Cameroon international has come joint-first on 11 per cent of the votes along with Dutch winger Ibrahim Afellay as the least valuable member of the club’s current squad.
The 26-year-old is only into his second season with Barcelona, but has struggled badly to establish himself as a regular in the side since making the switch from the Emirates Stadium.
Song had been a key player for Arsenal, and particularly impressed in his final season with the club before being snapped up for a reported fee of £15million, though he may now be on the move again as he looks unlikely to be in the Catalan giants’ plans for next season.
With the likes of Sergio Busquets and Javier Mascherano ahead of Song in the pecking order, and possible big-name signings such as Arturo Vidal set to come in, the chance of first-team action looks even less likely next year. (SportsDirectNews)
