Arsenal are weighing up a summer move for Lazio defender Luis Pedro Cavanda.
The Gunners look increasingly likely to lose the long-serving Bacary Sagna at the end of the season, as the French international continues to stall on signing a new contract at the club, making him a free agent in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The former Auxerre man has established himself as one of the top right-backs in Europe since joining Arsenal in 2007, and will now leave a big hole in the team’s defence as he seems set to return to Ligue 1 to join champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Cavanda now seems to be the top target for Arsene Wenger as he eyes a new addition in that position, with the 24-year-old impressing with his displays in Serie A over the last few years.
The Belgian has been linked with the north London giants in the past, and a club insider now believes Wenger will step up his interest in the player as Sagna edges closer to an exit from the Emirates Stadium. (SportsDirectNews)
