Inter Milan’s meeting with Real Madrid on Wednesday night has seen them receive a negative answer in their pursuit of Alvaro Morata, meaning Arsenal have a massive boost in the chase.
The talented young Spaniard has been linked with a summer exit from Real Madrid after a lack of playing time and rising of another youngster – Jese Rodriguez.
The likes of Inter Milan and Arsenal have maintained their interest, with both keen to pursue a summer move but heading into Wednesday, it looked extremely likely that the Italian side would beat Arsene Wenger to a deal.
Inter sporting director Piero Aid flew to the Spanish capital to discuss terms with Madrid officials and Morata’s agent, Juanma Lopez but instead of completing a deal, the Serie A side were left with a negative answer.
Morata is keen to stay with Madrid unless he is offered a lucrative move that sees him join a club that he sees have ambition and plans for the future. (SportsDirectNews)
It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
