Arsenal look to beat off rivals and land wantaway Frenchman

Arsenal hope to fight off Atletico Madrid and Premier League rivals for out of favour Jeremy Menez.

The midfielder was linked with the Emirates giants during the January transfer window and boss Arsene Wenger could be set to battle it out with Italian giants Juventus for his signature at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has already played for Sochaux, Monaco and Roma, as well as PSG, and will be on the move again this summer as a queue of clubs hope to sign him on a free transfer.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also been monitoring events and could firm up their interest in the coming weeks.

But the SportsDirectNews website claim the Gunners are hoping to get the deal all signed and sealed
