Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan has insisted he wants to stay in Spain even though he wants to play for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners have been linked with a swoop for the 27-year-old Turkey international but his agent, Ahmet Bulut, is adamant the former Galatasaray player will not be leaving the Spanish capital.
The Daily Express says Turan is viewed as a long-term replacement for Czech Republic international Tomas Rosicky, who is close to signing a new one-year deal at the Emirates.
But Bulut said: ‘[Arda] is interested in working under Arsene Wenger and Arda would like to play in England.
‘Arda will not leave Atletico. They are part of the title race and he is a key player. Arda plays for a big club and he will be part of Atletico’s success.
‘We have received offers from English clubs. However, for now I would like to insist once more that Arda renewed his contract recently and wants to stay at Atletico.’ (Metro)
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out this summer
