Aston Villa could make a summer bid for Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson.
The 22-year-old defender has not quite managed to establish himself as a regular during his time at the Emirates Stadium, though he has impressed in recent times in his limited appearances for the team.
However, with first-choice right-back Bacary Sagna looking increasingly likely to leave Arsenal at the end of the season as his contract expires, Jenkinson could now be in line to become first choice at the club next year.
Still, Villa are hopeful of boosting their squad to ensure they do not spend another season battling relegation next term, after a disappointing couple of campaigns under manager Paul Lambert.
Jenkinson has shown plenty of potential and could be available for a reasonable fee, especially as Arsenal continue to be linked with new signings in the right-back position, suggesting that Arsene Wenger does not see the England international as the solution to that problem at the moment.
