Arsenal to offer Spaniard-plus-cash for £20 million hitman

Reports have claimed Arsenal are plotting a swap deal for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez which would see midfield man Mikel Arteta move to Old Trafford.

The Gunners are desperate to add to their strikeforce this summer and boss Arsene Wenger is confident of helping Mexico hitman Hernandez rediscover his best form.

The little man is behind the likes of Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Robin Van Persie in the pecking order and his lack of game time has seen his deadly scoring, somewhat disappear.

And the Gunners know Arteta retains a close relationship with United manager David Moyes, his former mentor at Everton and will use that in hope they can get a deal done according to the SportsDirectNews website.
