Real Sociedad forward and Arsenal target Antoine Griezmann has confirmed that he almost quit football at the age of 13.
The exciting 22-year-old Frenchman is rated as one of best young talents in the game and is heavily tipped to make a summer move to the Emirates, after Arsene Wenger confirmed his interest.
The Frenchman began his career with La Liga side Sociedad in 2009 after spending time with the youth teams but he has sensationally revealed that he almost stopped playing football at the age of 13.
Griezmann moved to Basque country at the age of 14 after the club spotted him playing for Montpellier on trial.
However, weeks before that game, Griezmann would be offered a trial with another French club, Metz, and he has spoken about his decision not to go which was changed by his father.
As quoted on the SportsDirectNews website, Griezmann said: “I did a lot of trials with clubs. When we went to Metz I told my father that I had enough.
“But ultimately he stopped me from quitting, I thought they were going to say no like the others and they did.
“My father kept me going though and supported me”
