Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is edging closer to a move for Micah Richards, after he told Manchester City that he will not be signing a new deal at the club.
The defender has been out of favour under Manuel Pellegrini, as the Chilean boss prefers Argentine Pablo Zabaleta.
And although Richards has been at the club ever since he was a kid, he feels the best thing for him to do is make a move and try to get his career on the right track.
A source told Sky Sports: “It is with a heavy heart that Micah has told City that he will not be signing his new deal and they have now accepted he will be leaving.
“Micah has grown up at City and given his all but this is the right time to move on.”
