Ex-Gunners midfielder Edu has backed moves for Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy.
The Gunners have already completed the signing of Alexis Sanchez for a fee of £30 million, and many reports have claimed Debuchy will shortly be announced as a Gooner.
And the Brazilian, part of the “Invincible” team of 2004, believes such quality additions could see them challenging for the title next term.
As quoted on the TalkSport website, he said: “Arsenal are still in my heart and I still follow Arsene Wenger. I have a big relationship with that club.
“If they sign them [Sanchez and Debuchy] of course Arsene Wenger is very clever.
“Everybody knows he is good at signing players, particularly young ones, and they can give good things to Arsenal and make them better and stronger as they look to win the Premier League.”
