Manchester United target lkay Gundogan is set to break his silence over his future at Borussia Dortmund, according to club CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke.
The highly-impressive German is rated as one of the best in his position and has been linked with a big summer move to Barcelona, although United boss David Moyes is also keen to get a deal done.
Moyes has long been confident he could land the midfielder who is entering the last year of his contract in a deal worth around £32million, but his club are hoping to hold onto the talented Germany international as build their team around him.
Gundogan, though, has so far remained tight-lipped on his future and Watzke is expecting a public announcement from the player very soon.
As quoted on the Daily Mirror, he said: “On whether he will compete in the World Cup, I am not the one to give out reliable forecasts.
“We will not speculate about when he will come back. We are convinced he will be healthy but we cannot measure this in terms of weeks or months.
“As for the contract, it will not be a long, dragged-out affair. I think it is not going to be more than a matter of weeks.”
