Chelsea to do Italian business as powerhouse on his way out

Inter Milan have been joined by city neighbours AC Milan in the race to sign John Obi Mikel

The Nigerian midfielder holds a contract with the English side until 2017 but reports of a summer exit have loomed large after he dropped down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.

Mikel joined Chelsea in 2006 and has played an important part in the club’s success over the years, but a planned summer overhaul is likely to see Mikel and others move out of Stamford Bridge.

[FDN] understand that AC Milan are keen to add the Nigerian midfielder in a double pivot alongside another former Blue – Michael Essien. (SportsDirectNews)

It will be interesting to see where he ends up
