Chelsea are hoping to hold contract talks with Ashley Cole whose current deal expires this summer.
The Telegraph reports that the 33-year old left-back is again in the plans of Jose Mourinho and that the Blues want to negotiate a new deal.
The England International has fallen down the pecking order in recent weeks as Mourinho prefers Cesare Azpilicueta.
But he has bounced back well recently by performing admirably in last week’s Champions League semi-final first leg draw with Atletico Madrid and Sunday’s 2-0 win over domestic title rivals Liverpool.
These two performances have reportedly swayed Mourinho to offer Cole a one-year contract.
