Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel has revealed that the club are continuing to monitor Manchester City striker John Guidetti, according to the SportsDirectNews website.
Guidetti enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Dutch club during the 2011/12 season, scoring 20 goals in 23 Eredivisie appearances.
Despite that prolific season, the 21-year-old’s development was hindered after Guidetti suffered a serious knee injury that saw him miss 18 months of football and he has only recently returned to fitness.
Guidetti’s Stoke City debut at Crystal Palace on January 18 was his first senior game since April 2012 due to the injury and, now that he has returned to match fitness, Feyenoord, according are set to offer £2.5 million for the young striker.
Feyenoord have made no secret of their desire to bring Guidetti back to the club, with the striker’s contract at the Etihad Stadium set to expire at the end of next season.
Van Geel said:”He is a guy that we like. Guidetti is always in our mind.”
