With it looking increasingly unlikely that Manchester United will secure either a domestic league title or a Champions League triumph, the summer window could be ever so important to the future of the club and their quest for silverware.
And we have put together a list of four players David Moyes should make a move for.
MATS HUMMELS – BORUSSIA DORTMUND
It is no secret that United have an aging back four and facts show that they need to go out and land one or even two world class defenders.
And top of their shopping list should be Hummels, who is regarded as one of the finest ball playing central defenders the game has to offer.
His ability to read the game makes up for his lack of pace, and although there is a lot of interest in his signature, he has reportedly stated that he would be open to a move to Old Trafford.
ELIAQUIM MANGALA – PORTO
We have added another central defender to the list as United need a man that has a presence if the heart of the back four.
Mangala has been tipped by many to become one of the games best defenders and is already attracting some of Europes biggest clubs.
Pace, power and brilliant in the air, he would be the perfect partner for Mats Hummels
CHEICK TIOTE – NEWCASTLE UNITED
Tiote is surely one of Moyes top midfield targets this summer even though Newcastle are desperate to keep the Ivory Coast international.
Chelsea and Manchester City have previously been quoted over £20million for Tiote and remain interested, but Moyes will test the water with a bid of around £15million in the summer window.
His no nonsense, in your face style of play is just what the red devils need in the centre of the park.
TONI KROOS – BAYERN MUNICH
There has been a lot of talk in the media about the possible of arrival of Kroos to United in the summer, and after he demolished Arsenal in the Champions League a fortnight ago, you can see why.
He has all the ability to be a real star of the game and with United lacking creativity in the centre of the park, the idea of landing Kroos for £50 million may be one of the best moves Moyes will ever make.
