Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette has revealed he turned down an offer from Everton as he waits to see if an offer from Liverpool
Lacazette has been in electric form in Ligue 1 this season, but with Lyon struggling to reach the heights they have in seasons’ past speculation has been rife that the 22-year-old could move in the summer.
And Everton were seemingly looking set for a move, but he does not want a move to the blue side of Merseyside and would much rather Liverpool make a swoop.
And they will be encouraged by quotes from Lacazette that suggests his stance could change if Lyon fail to match his ambitions.
As quoted on the Daily Express, he said: “I also know that to achieve my ambitions the club must almost play their part.
“And I would not want to put the club in danger because of me.
“If I leave for the money it would bring in, I will do so because I love this club.
“I am under contract and if the club wants to keep me I am obliged to stay.
“After all, we need to reach a common ground. We must talk about it.”
