Reports have revealed Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has stated Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa would be welcomed back at the club with ‘open arms’.
The impressive Kagawa left Dortmund for Old Trafford two years ago and was heavily tipped to make a real impact at the club.
However, he has started just 12 Premier League games this season and there are claims in the media that he could make a move back to Germany.
And Hummels would not complain if Kagawa was re-signed by the Bundesliga club.
As quoted on the Sky Sports website, he said: “We would take him with open arms, of course.
“Having an offensive line with [Marco] Reus, [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan and Kagawa would certainly be stylish.
“But I would not say anything about the other great players we have playing for us. The attacking midfield is probably the best part of our team without Shinji.”
