Reports have claimed Real Madrid are preparing to offload Karim Benzema to Arsenal in a bid to raise funds to launch a sensational move for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
Reports in Italy suggest that Real remain optimistic that they can persuade Suarez to swap Merseyside for Madrid despite the Uruguayan signing a new contract at Anfield earlier this season.
Florentino Perez is said to be enamoured with the idea of having Suarez join Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in one of the most fearsome forward lines ever assembled.
And they will sell Arsenal their long-term target Benzema, according to the Daily Express website
The Gunners have been tracking Benzema for the last two seasons, with the Frenchman struggling to impress since joining Madrid.
Arsene Wenger was said to have made a big money offer for the striker last summer, but the bid was rejected, with Madrid keen to give Benzema one more season to settle.
However, with Real fans still jeering him in the stands, reports in Spain claim he will be put up for sale at the end of the season, and Arsenal will try again to buy him.
