In-demand star responds to big talk and puts smiles on faces

Thibaut Courtois has denied he has plans to run down his contract at Chelsea and join Real Madrid in 2016.

Reports in Spain yesterday suggested that Courtois had grown frustrated with Jose Mourinho’s refusal to commit to him as first choice at Stamford Bridge.

With Mourinho insisting that Courtois will return to Chelsea next season to compete with Petr Cech, after three years as undisputed first choice on loan at Atletico Madrid, it was thought that the 21-year-old was assessing his options.

However, Courtois insists he has a contract with Chelsea and is not thinking about going anywhere else.

He told AS: “An agreement with Real Madrid? This is totally false.” (Daily Express)
