Italian International to replace departing Arsenal star in smart summer deal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could reportedly splash out and sign up Italian International Gabriel Paletta, according to the Daily Mirror website.

With reports circling that Thomas Vermaelen is leaving to join Manchester United, Wenger has a problem that he needs to solve by spending big.

And on his shopping list could be Paletta, who has been solid over the last few seasons for Parma

The Argentina-born defender was rejected by Liverpool back in 2007, returning to his home country to play for Boca Juniors.

That’s where his fortune started to turn, moving to Parma in 2010, Paletta has forced his way onto the Italy squad (by virtue of his parents’ Italian heritage), having impressed Prandelli with his performances in Serie A.
