Reports have come out and claimed Hellas Verona look to have conceded defeat in their pursuit of Juan Iturbe, which will leave the door open for Liverpool.
Iturbe is currently on loan at Verona from FC Porto where he has made a big impact. His performances in Serie A have attracted interest from reds boss Brendan Rodgers.
The Irish boss has been eyeing up the young man for some time now as he looks to add some more class to an already impressive attack.
Verona are said to have a first-option on the Argentine youngster as part of their loan agreement but according to top Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the club feel they cannot compete with the Premier League giants.
As quoted on the SportsDirectNewswebsite, he said: “€4million (£3.3m). San Lorenzo is well aware of the value of the player. He had an excellent game last night in the match against All Boys.
“They are still in negotiations but Verona are monitoring the situation and looking for the best solution.”
