Liverpool boss to demand more control as talks to begin

Brendan Rodgers will demand more control over transfers of the club when he begins his new Liverpool contract talks at the end of the season.

The reds boss, who has worked wonders at Anfield since he was appointed, has been linked with a move to Barcelona in the summer as the Spaniards look to replace Tata Martino.

Liverpool’s transfer business is currently done by committee, as Rodgers works in tandem with chief executive Ian Ayre, head of recruitment Dave Fallows and Michael Edwards.

However, according to the Daily Mirror website, owners Fenway Sports will have to change their US recruitment model if they want to keep Rodgers, 41, happy.
